A long time ago, I read that creativity is about making connections. We have a need and a set of resources. Creativity is simply taking the resources and making connections between them to meet the need.
It helps a lot if you're willing to take chances and try something that seems silly or stupid at first glance.
This, believe it or not, is a flower girl basket. Look again. See it?
This creative solution arose from a need (flower girl basket) and a pile of gathered resources lying on my dining room sideboard. Honestly, I was just fooling around when I picked up a random piece of thrift-store china and a length of twine left over from another wedding.
But the bride loved it.
And there you have it. A flower girl basket like none other.
